| I have the exact same problem. Also running Windows 7 64bit. Have tried both 1.07 and 1.08 drivers with no luck. There seems to be some kind of powerstruggle regarding the master volume control. Both Windows 7 and the Prodigy 7.1 HiFi software wants to control it on their own, and seem unaware of the changes made in volume-level by either. In previous Windows editions the operating systems master volume just served as an extension of the Prodigy softwares master volume control. Now it seems as if its two individual systems, completely out of sync. Just as Glaucoma, i barely have to touch any of the volume controls, be it the Windows 7 master volume, or the Prodigy 7.1 master volume, and my head gets blown off by 100% output, even though Windows says it's only about 10%. I can't quite wrap my head around why this have to be so complicated. I struggle to find any logic in the way Windows 7 handles audio devices. Is it just me? Anyway, i'm angry at Microsoft for wanting to control every little thing, and thereby screwing up everything for users not using the most common of products. Nevertheless we still need working drivers... This could very well have damaged my active monitors, had i not been careful. I find this issue completely unacceptable and annoying. Any feedback on this subject would be nice. |
