prodigy HD2 ans Seven x64
written by vitesse (User) | 12/18/2009 | 03:36 Hits: 976
I tried the new 1.08 drivers on my Windows Seven x64 installation. Thanks to Esi to have released a new drivers.

The card is by default an Envy24 family audio controller. When I do the upgrade of drivers from the device manager it refuse to use the prodigy drivers. When I manually force the drivers to the 1.08 I have BSOD with prodigy audio and error code (10) with prodigy controller (the two drivers available)

How can I use this drivers on Seven x64?
p.s. I have an Prodigy HD2 Advance Deluxe

Edit: Another question.
Why I can't see line in in Seven X64? I want to record k7 to computer using line in.

Hi vitesse,

you have to flash a new bios to the card first. Otherwise it will only be recognised as an Envy24-card.

Here's an explanation (google-translation):
Korean-forum

- click on the thread called "Prodigy HD2 only Vista driver v1.2 Beta"
- make a DOS-BootDisk and add new Bios-file (ASIO Bios)
- take out the card and place a jumper on JP4 (marked in the thread)
- start from the boot-disk and follow the instructions for flashing

On next reboot, you can install the 1.08 drivers (but never remove the jumper!)

Good luck
Funkx

Oh thanks for your help. I don't remember having flashed the card, but will flash it to the asio bios

Updates:

It worked well, I now have audiotrack drivers and control pannel.

For me using Windows Seven x64 I needed to disable the soundcad in sound pannel, the change the default 256ms latency to 48ms then reactivating the card as I had heavy crackling sound.

I read somewhere on the forum that using pci latency of 64 may solve the problem but this is not an option on my board (asus maximus)

I found the 40khz feature quite interesting, will have to do more listening if it really change something, but I doubt as digital are hard limited from 0-20khz.
