I have to get this off of my chest. I absolutely hate this piece of useless crap, and the crooks that made it. It has NEVER, during the two years i've had it, been able to perform as advertised, no matter the operating system/driver/computer. I've tried several different combinations of software/hardware enviroments. Nothing ever works properly! The drivers are buggy! Sound recorded is choppy and full of noise, even using the digital input. I have absolutely no control over the volume level in Windows 7. Been close to ruining my active monitors several times because of sudden jumps to maximum volume. The software is ugly and does a poor job informing you about the different features. Now, with the new driver, a whole bunch of features are just simply removed?!? What the ****! I could go on but i'm pretty sure that doesn't get me a working soundcard. When i get the money for a new soundcard, i will throw the Prodigy 7.1 so called HiFi card where it belongs, in the trash!. I will never buy from this brand again. AudioTrak, you are thieves! You took my money and gave me headaches in return. Shame on you. |

| I perfectly agree with you on that. HiFi 7.1 is a good product, but software support makes it more or less useless, regardless of platform or application. Is really a shame to see such products suffer from poor quality software support. Regarding the recording and microphone problems, I'm having the same issue, and believe me, I know how frustrating it is. I bought a sound card that is not exactly cheap, and ended up using the integrated audio solution on the MB, just to record properly. Shame Audiotrak/ESI! |

| Hi LordICE, and thank you for replying. I'm glad i'm not alone on this. It's very frustrating working with a piece of hardware like this, and frustration was exactly what i was trying to avoid by buying this product in the first place. It's not alright putting a product like this on the market without proper software. Like you, i find that the onboard soundcard on my motherboard does a better job recording audio than the Prodigy 7.1 Hifi, and my entire motherboard was cheaper than the Prodigy! I think that says it all... well, i hope for the both of us, we'll find a working solution. AudioTrak/ESI was just a waste of time, energy and money. A real shame. |
