Re: Things to try when dealing with sound distortion
written by Simon (Moderator) | 01/11/2005 | 15:43 Hits: 434
When posting information about this problem, please post COMPLETE system specs. This inlcudes the motherboard model, hard drive models, optical disc drive models and their connections (primary/secondary master/slave), etc. This is critical for us to reproduce the problem. It's not an issue that can be reproduced on each and every system.

Try to see if the issue occurs more often in specific situations, such as hard drive access, network access, typing on the keyboard, etc.

When troubleshooting, try removing or disabling any hardware which is not required for system operation, to see if any particular component combination is causing the problem.

This problem affects other sound cards as well. It may occur more often on the Prodigy because the card has a lower latency than the others.
